Honeylocust Plant Bug
Honeylocust Tree
THIN HONEYLOCUST TREES
Many honeylocust appear to have sparse, thin foliage. Many times this is caused by the combined feeding of the honeylocust plant bug and leafhopper. You may notice small active green insects on the trees or on you if you sit under an infested tree. Heavy feeding causes burning, curling and spotting on the leaves and eventually leaf drop. Both species are transforming into adults and trees will begin to fill in early July After repeated attack, the twigs get swellings at the attack site. It is too late to effectively treat them now.
